There’s something special happening under the arena lights each week at the Jasper County Cowboy Church Arena, located at 2200 W. Gibson Street in Jasper — and it’s drawing families, youth riders and community members from across the area.
Known as “Bibles & Bulls” on Tuesdays and “Bibles & Steers” on Fridays, the weekly gatherings combine devotion, mentorship and youth rodeo in an atmosphere built on faith and encouragement.
Each event begins with a devotion at 6:45 p.m., followed by bucking at 7:00 p.m., as young riders climb into the chute, nod their heads and step into the arena.
But organizers say it’s about far more than the ride.
The program focuses on building confidence, character and courage in local youth — teaching them how to ride strong and live even stronger. Mentors, parents and church leaders stand alongside the kids, offering guidance not only in the sport, but in life.
Spectators are invited to attend at no cost, and participation is free for all kids. A concession stand is open during events, with proceeds supporting the church’s ministry efforts.
Under the bright arena lights, families fill the stands while riders gather in prayer before competing — a powerful reminder that at JC3, boots hit the dirt, but hearts are pointed toward something bigger.
Bibles & Bulls takes place every Tuesday evening, and Bibles & Steers happens every Friday at the Jasper County Cowboy Church Arena.
The community is invited to grab a seat in the stands and be part of what’s happening in the arena.
