Investing in the Future: Shelby County Rallies for 2026 FFA & 4-H Livestock Auction

CENTER, TX — The alarms are set and the barns are buzzing. The 2026 Shelby County 4-H and FFA Livestock Show and Auction is officially on the calendar for Saturday, March 7, 2026.

This annual tradition showcases the dedication of students from Center, Joaquin, Shelbyville, Tenaha and Timpson. While the competition in the show ring is fierce, the auction serves as a vital investment in the next generation of East Texas agricultural leaders.

Event Schedule: Saturday, March 7

• 6:00 PM – Buyers’ Appreciation Meal: A dinner to honor local supporters will be held prior to the sale. This is a great opportunity for the community to meet the exhibitors.

• 7:00 PM – The Auction Begins: The live sale of champions and market projects will kick off immediately following the meal.

• Location: The auction and meal traditionally take place at the John Dean Windham Civic Center in Center, following the week's judging at the Sheriff’s Posse Arena.

How to Support

Local residents and businesses can support these students through:

• Live Bidding: Participating in the premium auction for top-placing animals.

Contributors can put money in the buyers pool which will be spent at the auction on projects.

For official show updates or to register as a new buyer, contact the Shelby County Extension Office at (936) 598-7744.
