Newton County Fair Returns for 2026 Season in April

NEWTON, TEXAS — Newton County has officially announced the dates for its 2026 County Fair, with the local tradition scheduled to run from April 3 through April 11, 2026.
The fair, a significant fixture on the county’s annual calendar, will bring nine days of entertainment and agricultural tradition to the community.
Featured Arena Events and Competitions
This year's program features a variety of youth and community competitions, including:
• Mutton Bustin’ and the Calf Scramble
• The Greased Pig Contest and Calf Dressin’
• A Carnival and Live Music performances
Agriculture and Local Craftsmanship
In keeping with its roots, the fair will host a Livestock Show & Auction, providing a platform for local residents to showcase their animals. The Arts & Craft Exhibit will also be open to the public, highlighting local handiwork and creative projects.
Amenities and Vendors
The fairgrounds will offer a selection of Food and various Vendors throughout the week. Residents should note that the county observes a "County Fair Day" holiday during this period, emphasizing the event's importance to the local region.
The fair kicks off Friday, April 3, and continues through the following Saturday.
